Celebrating Another Year of Life

A Letter to Our Creator

Dear Universe/God/Whoever you pray to,

Thank you for allowing me to see a 29th year. The best thing about the past 2.9 decades has been my ability to draw closer into You. I look forward to seeing how our relationship continues to deepen over time. I ask that this birthday be about You. I pray to use this birthday gift of life You’ve given me to serve Your purpose and honor Your name. May my life be a testament of what You are and what You represent. You remind us in Luke 12:48 (KJV) that “for whomsoever much is given, of him shall much be required” when I think about all I’ve been given—a beautiful home, a strong support system, resources to live, meaningful work, magnanimous ambition, intellect, sanity, among so many other things— I know that much is required of me. My only request this year is to be reminded to serve and honor You in everything I do.

Thank you for life, health, and family. Only with your support can I pray a similar prayer next year.
